Mobile Communications America Shipping & Receiving Specialist in Chapel Hill, North Carolina

MCA, your trusted advisor for wireless communications, data, and security, is seeking an experienced Shipping and Receiving Specialist in Chapel Hill, NC to support our fast-growing Data division.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Operates lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move, or hoist materials to proper departments or areas.

  • Operates Forklift, Scissor Lift, and other machinery as required.

  • Operates the stretch wrap banders.

  • Unpacks, examines, and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shippers to rectify damages and shortages. Receives and processes all defective parts returned for replacement or credit.

  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.

  • Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.

  • Supports the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base.

  • Responsible for making arrangements for pick up by the carrier specified on the customer’s purchase order, which is conveyed to the shipping clerk by final inspection via the shipping instructions.

  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.

  • Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times.

  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.

  • Required to make pickups and deliveries to our suppliers for parts and raw materials using a company van.

  • Material Handling Responsibilities

  • Follows inspection procedures.

  • Adheres to procedures required for stores/materials documents and shipping and receiving documents.

  • Performs warehouse control, inventory control, and related duties.

  • Uses tools and is responsible for their accountability.

  • Maintains area machines and equipment used in stores/materials and shipping and receiving.

  • Resolves any material needs, solving material problems and inventory control issues as they arise.

  • Updates computer-generated inventories and documents.

  • Facilitate fulfillment of orders by gathering materials or inventory.

  • Getting radios for sales orders to the programming shelf

  • Taking radios to shipping from the programming shelf once completed.

YOUR ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical environment requires the employee to work inside.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear; lift (overhead, waist level) from the floor, bending, frequently utilize near vision use for reading and computer use; occasionally move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, and frequently position self to maintain computers or other equipment as needed.
