Seeking a health lawyer to be in-house counsel at a large and growing health care company. Candidates should have at least 4 years of experience practicing law, preferably in the health care industry representing health care providers. The position will involve working directly with business clients of the organization, collaborating with colleagues across the nation, and regulatory compliance.

Successful candidate will be part of a collaborative team of attorneys and support staff in a growing health care business.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of legal services and related support

  • Proactively identifying and resolving clinical legal and related matters impacting the business

  • Assisting in the review, preparation and negotiation of various documents and contracts

  • Developing best practices for identifying and mitigating legal, compliance and business risks

  • Working in partnership with the various departments of the organization

  • Collaborating with colleagues across the legal department

  • Drafting documents, including provider employment agreements and amendments

  • Legal research in health law topics

The successful candidate will possess solid research, verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment and business instincts, and the ability to respond effectively and efficiently to clinical and business leaders by producing high quality service within needed time frames.

Required Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an A.B.A-accredited law school

  • Current license to practice law in New York State

  • 4+ years of related experience

  • Experience building and maintaining rapport with superiors, peers, subordinates and external company contacts

  • Experience drafting and negotiating agreements

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook

  • Proven excellent written and oral communications skills

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
