Job Description:

Job Title: Procurement Coordinator

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Department: Purchasing

General Function:

Works with the Purchasing, Transportation, and Distribution staff to identify areas of potential cost savings to the company. Drives stores sales and pushes promotions. Communicates with vendors/suppliers, as well as Store Directors, Assistant Directors of Store Operations and Product specialist.

Accountable and Reports to: Vice-President, Procurement

Positions that Report to you: Procurement Coordinator Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepares and oversees the Seasonal/ShowEbuys for GM merchandise to stores. Manages, supports and maintains supplier contact website. Works with Distribution, Purchasing and Transportation decision-makers to resolve inter-departmental problems. Evaluates the efficiency and necessity of departmental processes and procedures. Reports to work when scheduled and on time. Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required (college coursework preferred); 3-5 years previous related work experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction.

  • Must be physically able to perform sedentary work: occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 10 pounds, and occasionally standing or walking.

  • Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling talking, hearing and repetitive motions.

Working Conditions:

The duties of this position are performed in a general office setting. There is significant pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities in a day. Traveling between warehouse facilities necessary. Position location is flexible at this time.

Equipment Used to Perform Job:

Calculator, phone, Fax and copier, and PC with Microsoft Office programs and database management software.

Financial Responsibility:

Responsible for initiating purchase orders valued at approximately $10 million+.

Contacts:

Has daily contact with vendors/suppliers, distribution personnel, store marketing leadership and marketing coordinators. Has frequent contact with IT project team leaders.

Confidentiality:

Has access to confidential information, including pricing and purchasing information.
