Job Title: Assembler C - All Skillsets

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Assembler C with 7+ years of experience to perform routine production assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and aircraft systems, equipment, and accessories using manual operations. You will be responsible for selecting the correct parts, materials, tools, assemblies, and standards, and performing necessary pre-installation assembly work. You will also report job constraints, perform repairs and rework, and incorporate authorized changes.

Responsibilities

  • Use a computer in a production environment.

  • Look up, read, and comprehend technical work instructions, drawings, and specifications.

  • Install various parts and assemblies such as landing gear, aircraft control surfaces, exterior panels, carpets, blankets, roller trays, stowbins, sidewalls, ceiling panels, lavatories, galleys, doors, and seats.

  • Install various aircraft system components such as tubing, valves, regulators, actuators, compressors, and ducts.

  • Use appropriate protective clothing and equipment as determined by the task.

  • Operate mechanical lifts of various types.

  • Use various tools including rivet guns, screwdrivers, lock bolt pullers, power screwdrivers, C-squeezes, ratchet wrenches, and other hand tools.

  • Use chemical solvents, sealants, coatings, primers, adhesives, paints, and special finishes.

  • Inspect work quality and check for Foreign Object Debris (FOD).

  • Use high impact vibratory tools.

  • Perform tasks requiring climbing, balancing, crawling, crouching, and working around energized sources.

  • Adhere to high standards of safety and compliance to regulations.

  • Carry and lift up to 10-35 pounds.

  • Perform tasks involving head flexion/extension, handling, kneeling, bending, overhead work, and twisting at the waist.

  • Read from a computer screen, printed drawings, or documents.

  • Stand for long periods and work in elevated or confined spaces as required.

Essential Skills

  • 10+ years of on-aircraft heavy structural, electrical, or systems experience.

  • 5+ years in an MRO/Repair Station/AOG/Travel MODS environment.

  • 5+ years of experience removing and restoring aircraft assemblies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 10+ years of Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing experience.

  • 2+ years of composites experience.

  • 2+ years of Velocity and Radars experience.

  • Ability to identify common tools.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Strong communication skills, work ethic, and sense of urgency.

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, schematics, and engineering dispositions.

  • Experience working with high hazard chemicals.

  • Capability in drilling, reaming, filling, removing and installing fasteners, shimming, accurately measuring, and documenting data.

  • Safety conscious with a strong understanding of safety standards and use of safety equipment.

Work Environment

You will be working in large teams and must be open to working 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts. The role involves frequent use of various tools, exposure to high impact vibratory tools, climbing, balancing, crawling, and working around energized sources. You will need to adhere to safety standards and use protective equipment including safety glasses, harnesses, respirators, and boot socks. The work environment requires standing for long periods, working in elevated and confined spaces, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of NORTH CHARLESTON, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $40.00
