Job Purpose

The Plumbing Shop Supervisor plans, coordinates, supervises, assigns and assists with the work of plumbing shop staff, including renovations, installations, maintenance and repair of piping/plumbing systems throughout the College and its facilities. Oversees and tracks all phases of work orders and their costs. Responsible for the plumbing shop's quality of work and adherence to specifications, policies and safety regulations.

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma and four years of experience in plumbing construction and repair. Must be a highly skilled plumber with extensive knowledge of standard practices, methodology, techniques, safety procedures and requirements of the plumbing trade. Supervisory experience required. Must have a valid SC driver's license, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment, as the employee will be required to drive state vehicles to transport equipment and/or personnel when needed. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

[Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to lead others effectively, while participating in a team environment. Must be able to follow complex oral and written instructions. Must be able to supervise and instruct a crew of plumbing trades specialists and prioritize work orders. Experience in utilizing on-line work order systems is a plus. Skill with electronic devices such as iPhone and iPad is preferred. Must have strong computer skills and be proficient with using email and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Must have the ability to utilize computerized web-based programs for work order processing, pe ]{new="" roman="" times=""}
