Project Manager - Materials Management

Location: Cleveland TN/Charleston TN area

Schedule: 7am - 4pm, Monday through Friday

Company Overview:

Our client, a large-scale manufacturing company is looking for a dynamic Project Manager to join their Materials Management team. This position is based in the Cleveland TN/Charleston TN area, and requires on-site presence.

Job Description:

The Project Manager will oversee various key functions within our Materials Management department, specifically focusing on training, obsolete parts, and SAP systems. The person in this role will take the lead in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective handling of all material inventory, along with providing training to staff on new processes, and leading cross-functional meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee key materials management functions including managing obsolete parts and overseeing necessary training protocols.

Monitor and manage the inventory of materials throughout the warehouse, ensuring obsolete parts are efficiently managed and dealt with appropriately.

Lead training initiatives on new processes and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operations.

Participate in cross-functional meetings, leading discussions on key materials management topics when needed.

Additionally, the Project Manager may be called upon to participate in special projects as needed by the company.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Proven experience working in project management, with a specific focus on materials management.

Advanced proficiency in MS Excel including pivot tables and complex formulas.

Experience in using SAP, particularly in a materials management context.

Experience in providing training, with the ability to simplify complex processes.

Experience working with ERP systems and in a large warehouse/distribution environment is strongly preferred.

Experience in working with third-party logistics providers (3PL).

Excellent communication, leadership and strategic thinking abilities.

Degree preferred
