Oracle Principal Member of Technical Staff - Fullstack Developer in Charleston, West Virginia

Job Description

We are looking for engineers with proven ability to design scalable, high-performance cloud solutions. You’ve have solid understanding of cloud-native application development and microservices architecture. You work on most projects and tasks independently and extend technical leadership to development teams.In this role, you will enable development teams by driving design of major service components, working with engineering managers and PMs, and providing direct guidance to more junior team members. You are able to go from high level system design, writing architectural documentation and driving engineering peer reviews to hands-on prototyping, code reviews and project bootstrapping.You are technically strong and get a lot done. You can balance speed and quality with iteration and incremental improvements. You’ve made life easier for other developers and have motivated your teams to make both process and service improvements with your ability to automate and instrument.

Qualifications and Experience

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related fields

  • 8+ years distributed service engineering experience in a software development environment

  • Proven ability to design scalable, high-performance cloud solutions

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills

  • Expertise with cloud-native application development and microservices architecture

  • Strong development experience in object-oriented programming language, such as Java

  • Experience with leading cloud platforms such as OCI, AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud

  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Strong understanding and experience with DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD)

  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

  • Strong project management skills and experience with agile methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams

  • Knowledge of healthcare and experience delivering healthcare applications are significant plus.

  • Experience in front-end technologies including scripting with Javascript, ReactJS or KnockoutJS

  • Strong desire to stay on top of new technologies and services

Responsibilities

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs

US: Hiring Range: from $94,200 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

  10. Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
