Job Title: Assistant Classroom Teacher Start Date: November 4, 2024 Salary: Based on experience Reports directly to: Director of the Early Learning Center and Lower School Department: Early Learning Center Position description: Antilles School is seeking a dynamic and talented assistant teacher to join a committed team of educators in a collaborative environment that places a high value on the whole child. School description: Antilles School is an independent coeducational day school located on St. Thomas, in the US Virgin Islands. Antilles enrolls approximately 400 students in a toddler program through grade 12. Excellence, Diversity and Community are the guiding principles for each day at Antilles. Responsibilities include following the directions and lead of the classroom teacher, and assisting them in all areas of the classroom. This includes student interaction, set up and preparation of materials, and instruction of curriculum, as well as assisting the teacher in helping to meet the needs of the different learning styles of each child. The assistant teacher is expected to have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the schools curriculum and the developmental stages of their students. Collaboration with peers and a positive work ethic are expected. Assistant teachers have assigned duties and also need to be willing to help out as needed.
