The Position

This new General Manager of a Manufacturer Captive Finance partnership within Wells Fargo Auto will collaborate with corporate executive teams from the partner as well as internal partners and senior executive stakeholders to devise programs and strategies aligned to our partnership and business objectives. The General Manager role will oversee all aspects of the strategic partnership to ensure mutual core objectives are met. This executive will also work across multiple lines of business to identify and develop opportunities to deepen our partnership by leveraging the unique assets and capabilities available across Wells Fargo. This position will be a member of the Wells Fargo Auto Leadership team, reporting into the Head of Wells Fargo Auto.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Fully manage the P&L for the partner relationship; ensuring the portfolio performs within the established risk appetite and expected returns for the business

  • Fully accountable for all commitments and deliverables with respect to the implementation and on-going delivery of the strategic partnership

  • Lead and influence dedicated relationship management, Credit and Underwriting teams to support and grow the partner portfolio, requiring strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to identify and develop opportunities across multiple business lines

  • Develop growth strategies to acquire new customers and build market share for the partner relationship

  • Develop innovative strategies in support of the company's overall strategic objectives, inclusive of special programs and customer-centric initiatives; Lead investment requests as required

  • Develop strategies to drive customer loyalty and engagement

  • Negotiate program and contract amendments in support of the business

  • Build and maintain strong relationships and regular communication with C-suite and executive leadership within Wells Fargo and partner organization

  • Coordinate and lead a regular cadence of business reviews and collaborative discussions with partner

  • Maintain strong risk management discipline in managing the strategic partner relationship, ensure the business follows established policies and procedures and has sound controls in place

  • Track competitive movements for product features, pricing, customer experience, etc.; monitor vehicle trends and strategies and develop consistent processes to support the unique needs of the partner relationship

  • Actively engage and fulfill responsibilities as a member of the Auto Leadership Team, including leadership of strategies and initiatives to deliver on Wells Fargo Auto's business plan

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of Business Growth Strategy experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 4+ years of management experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in auto captive, auto finance, direct to consumer lending, business development, and/or experience leading a complex large-scale regulated business in alternative industries

  • Strong credit acumen with proven success leading in transformational environment

  • Significant negotiation experience

  • Strong change management and leadership focus

  • Exceptional quantitative and qualitative finance and analytical skills

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, problem solving and execution skills; insight and ability to proactively identify opportunities to innovate and improve the business

  • Exceptional people leadership, relationship development and negotiating skills; ability to earn respect and trust among internal and external business partners and teams

  • Proven experience in collaborating across teams and lines of business within large organizations

  • Strong proficiency with executive-level presentation materials and briefings, and the ability to simplify complex subject matter into digestible executive communications

  • A high level of personal initiative, setting and achieving challenging goals, and demonstrating entrepreneurial leadership

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to leverage data and anecdotal feedback to structure complex problems and make decisions

  • Demonstrated career of successful program implementations
