Continental BestDrive Retail AP/AR Clerk in Charlotte, North Carolina

Position Overview:

The BestDrive Retail AP/AR Clerk is essential to the success of our business. As a Retail AP/AR Clerk at BestDrive, you will provide financial, administrative, and clerical services to support the BestDrive headquarters and our retail locations. You will be a point of contact at HQ for our store employees, our parent company, and for customers. This position will also be responsible for some accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash application, and general accounting support.

Essential Duties:

  • Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.

  • Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data.

  • Prepare bills, invoices, and bank deposits.

  • Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.

  • Generate reports detailing accounts payable statues

  • Understand expense accounts and cost centers

  • Understand compliance issues around accounts payable process (W-9, sales tax, etc.) and ensure policies and procedures are followed.

  • Act as a liaison between headquarters and retail locations for accounts payable / accounts receivable related transactions.

  • Post Vendor ACH payments.

  • Assist Vendors, Customers, Store Administrative Assistants, and other Internal Users with customer payments and other inquiries.

  • Maintain accounts payable reports, spreadsheets and corporate accounts payable files.

  • Work with parent company to manage inter-company transactions.

  • Verify and/or complete payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years or older.

  • High school degree.

  • 2-3+ years in Accounting, AP, AR or related role.

  • Proficiency in planning and organizing tasks, managing priorities, and utilizing available resources to complete tasks within deadline.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, multi-tasking, and customer service.

  • Ability to keep information organized and confidential.

  • Proficient with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.

  • Positive, “can do” attitude to help drive the company forward.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College Degree in Business or military education preferred

  • 5+ years of related experience in administrative support

  • Microsoft Office – Intermediate

  • Proficient and adaptable to multiple accounting platforms (MaddenCo preferred)

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work hours are 8-5 Monday – Friday. Saturday and evenings as needed.

  • Office environment; Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

  • Occasionally lift up to 15 lbs.
