Summary:

Huntington's Syndicated and Leveraged Finance Associate will be r esponsible for all critical functions across the Strategic Advisory Group and Leveraged Finance team to support the origination and execution of transactions to drive the overall success of the groups and will work closely across all the Debt and Equity Capital Markets groups, the Strategic Advisory Group, and Corporate Finance teams. They will oversee the creation, maintenance, continued improvement, and production of high-quality templates to promote consistency of appearance and delivery across all of Strategic Advisory.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all critical functions in transaction origination. This consists primarily of leading team efforts in reviewing and analyzing financial data of both clients and prospects, including market analysis, review of public and private comparable equity, debt, and M&A transactions as well as substantial independent research.

  • Serving as a primary point of contact and leading efforts with the Strategic Advisory Group, Leveraged Finance team, and Relationship Management teams to distill information into presentation materials for clients and prospects, including marketing pitches, formal offering memoranda and financial models.

  • working directly with senior originators to identify opportunity specific ideas, insights, industry comparable analysis, financial modeling, and ensuring all are summarized in concise, illustrative, and persuasive presentations.

  • Coordinating across Capital Markets for idea generation and cross product presentations.

  • Coordinating best-in-class materials throughout Capital Markets.

  • Contribute to pitch meetings and new business development discussions.

  • Creating and maintaining marketing and financial model templates in conjunction with Compliance, the Huntington Knowledge Center and Proposal Direct support team.

  • Performing business and financial due diligence.

  • Performing select administrative duties as assigned.

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • FINRA Series 79, 63 or other necessary combination, obtained or to be obtained within 6 months of hire date

  • 2+ years’ experience in investment banking or corporate finance, specifically Syndicated and Leveraged Finance

  • Located in or willing to relocate to Charlotte, NC

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ experience in investment banking or corporate finance

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Self-starter / intellectual curiosity

  • Progressive thinker and problem solver, with a strong ability to manage ambiguity/complexity

  • Work effectively in teams as well as independently across multiple tasks while meeting aggressive timelines in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to embrace change, constructively negotiate constraints, and effectively leverage resources to create exceptional outcomes

  • Consistently model and inspire high levels of professional demeanor and integrity
