Actalent Construction Project Manager in Charlotte, North Carolina

Job Title: Construction Project ManagerJob Description

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate will work closely with the owner to manage several ongoing commercial construction projects, including hospitality/hotels, churches, schools, and retail. This role requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record in project management, particularly in ground-up projects from pre-construction to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to determine project specifications.

  • Negotiate contracts with external vendors to secure profitable agreements.

  • Obtain necessary permits and licenses from appropriate authorities.

  • Determine required resources (manpower, equipment, materials) from start to finish, adhering to budgetary limitations.

  • Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines are met.

  • Acquire equipment and materials, and monitor stocks to handle inadequacies in a timely manner.

  • Hire contractors and other staff, and allocate responsibilities.

  • Supervise the work of laborers, mechanics, and other staff, providing guidance when needed.

  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports.

  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards, and report any issues.

Essential Skills

  • 5-10 years of Project Management experience within commercial construction.

  • Proven track record of successfully closing out ground-up projects from pre-construction to completion.

  • Experience with general contracting (GC), construction, project coordination, Bluebeam, Procore, and subcontractor management.

  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures, materials, and project management principles.

  • Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.

  • Good knowledge of MS Office.

  • Familiarity with construction/project management software.

  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

  • A team player with leadership abilities.

  • BSc/BA in construction management is a plus but not required if the candidate has relevant experience.

Work Environment

The work environment includes both office and on-site locations as needed. The candidate will be required to attend OAC (Owners, Architect, Contractors) meetings. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $53.00
