Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assessment of Housing conditions and performing proper resolution methods.

  • Assist Advanced level technician in the repair and installation of Housing systems, focusing on the operation and maintenance Chillers, AHUs, Heat Pumps, PTACs, FCUs, and Mini-Split. Responsible for performing routine maintenance to ensure that Housing systems continue to run smoothly, systems operate efficiently, and/or the physical condition of Housing components do not deteriorate.

  • Use electrical test devices to troubleshoot control circuits.

  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.

  • Record daily activities in an order tracking system (Archibus).

Minimum Experience / Education:

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

University Preferred Qualifications:

Graduation from high school or equivalent and two years experience. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Education Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency.

  • Ability to demonstrate proficient knowledge in commercial HVAC Systems.

  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in the installation, maintenance, repair of HVAC and refrigeration equipment specializing in chillers/cooling towers.

  • E.P.A. 608 Refrigerant certification preferred.

  • Ability to effectively communicate the English language (reading, writing, interpretation, and comprehension) required.

  • Effective skills in verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.

  • Computer literate.

  • Knowledge and skill with Google Chrome, Microsoft Word, and Excel, and willingness to learn new programs.

  • Ability to effectively work/interact with persons from different backgrounds.

  • Ability to foster and create an atmosphere of teamwork.

  • Selected candidate must have the mental and physical capabilities to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
