Lowe's Lead Analyst - People Analytics in Charlotte, North Carolina

Your Impact

The primary purpose of this role is to translate business problems into analytic designs and perform the quantitative analysis or model building needed to help guide key business decisions. This includes applying knowledge of Lowe's data concepts to the creation of relevant analytic designs and making sound, data-driven business recommendations. This role must follow analytical best practices, analyze and report accurate results, and identify meaningful insights that directly support decision making.

This role leverages multiple resources, advanced analytic methodologies and data streams to support recommendations for executive level business decisions and their teams. At any given time, this role owns multiple collaborative projects across Business and Technology teams while working with Directors and Senior Leadership.

To be successful, the individual in this role must have a deep understanding of analytical techniques and disparate data sources - both internal and external, and strong domain expertise.

Specifically, this role will support HR leaders in key functions, including Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Total Rewards, HR Operations, and Culture Diversity, & Inclusion (CD&I). This role will lead the development and delivery of actionable insights that informs talent strategy, ultimately helping improve productivity and experience of Lowe’s Associates and people leaders.

Although this role does not manage people directly, the individual in this role spends time developing, training, and reviewing the work of others on the team.

What You Will Do

  • Contributes to or builds project plans, ensuring clear understanding of project requirements and timeline; translates complex business problems into smaller and easier analytical problems

  • Communicates project timelines, scope and expectations to stakeholders; plans resources accordingly and communicates roles and responsibilities to stakeholder and project team

  • Provides high quality and timely delivery with insights and recommendations.

  • Communicates analyses and insights to leaders by summarizing conclusions and solutions; translates analytics and statistics into clear, understandable themes for business leaders; identifies specific analytic results that drive actionable insights

  • Utilizes a depth of knowledge on how to best leverage disparate data sources, relevant internal/external data, and strong domain expertise, to deliver on a need of the business

  • Serves as thought leader and recommends actions and insights to drive business impact and inform strategic decisions for Director and above

  • Collaborates with leadership across functions to understand business needs and deliver cohesive, concise analytics and insights to aid in the determination of ways in which the business can more effectively grow market share

  • Mentors/coaches Analysts and Sr Analysts, delegating appropriate work and ensuring that the analyses and insights are accurate, impactful, timely and efficient

  • Ensures the appropriate framework for measuring the impact of data analytics function is used where/when appropriate; ensures discussions of impact occur with stakeholders after each project

  • Partners with internal development teams to test and deploy new tracking solutions while monitoring and optimizing existing integrations

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Data or Information Sciences, or related field (or equivalent work experience in a related field) AND 6 years of related experience

OR

• Master's Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Data or Information Sciences, or related field AND 4 years of related experience

ALSO

• 6 years of experience using analytic tools (e.g., Python, SQL, SAS, R, Adobe, Alteryx, Knime, Aster, Base SAS, SAS Enterprise Miner, Enterprise Guide)

• 3 years of experience working with Enterprise level databases (e.g., Hadoop, Teradata, GCP, Azure, Oracle, DB2)

• 4 years of experience using enterprise-grade data visualization tools (e.g., MicroStrategy VI, Power BI, Tableau)

• 3 years of Functional experience performing predictive analytics at a large scale enterprise

• 6 years of experience performing advanced data modeling, data mining and exploratory data analysis (e.g., linear/logistic regression, ARIMA, Cluster Analysis)

• 6 years of experience translating business requirements in analytics models

• Experience working cross-functionally

• 5 years presenting/communicating analytics results to business partners

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics or related area

• People Analytics experience or domain knowledge in Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Total Rewards, and/or Culture, Diversity & Inclusion

• Advanced knowledge of SQL

• Experience with Enterprise level databases (Hadoop, GCP (BigQuery), Azure, Oracle, Teradata, DB2)

• Experience with analytical tools like Python, Alteryx, Knime, SAS, etc.

• Experience with visualization tools like Google Looker, MicroStrategy VI, Power BI, SAS-VA, Tableau

• Programming experience using tools such as R, Python

• Data Science experience using tools such as ML, NLP, ChatGPT

• Project management experience

• Experience in home improvement retail

Pay Range: $102,300.00 - $194,400.00 annually Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
