Wells Fargo Lead Information Security Engineer in CHARLOTTE, North Carolina
About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a motivated Lead Information Security Engineer to join an exciting, fast paced team working on Software Security requirements, secure coding standards and secure design that are focused on protecting information companywide, while enabling software development teams to deliver quality solutions to the business while minimizing friction. This role will provide technical leadership, and be an individual contributor, to a team that specifically deals with secure application design and the prevention of vulnerabilities for internal assets. Additional functions of this role include the oversight of certain Governance, Risk and Control duties. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience creating reusable secure design patterns and secure code libraries that ensure software is developed according to Wells Fargo Cybersecurity policies and standards.
In this role, you will:
Provide security consulting on large projects for internal clients to ensure conformity with corporate information, security policy, and standards
Design, document, test, maintain, and provide issue resolution recommendations for highly complex security solutions related to networking, cryptography, cloud, authentication and directory services, email, internet, applications, and endpoint security
Utilize subject matter knowledge in industry leading security solutions and best practices to implement one or more components of information security such as availability, integrity, confidentiality, risk management, threat identification, modeling, monitoring, incident response, access management, and business continuity
Identify security vulnerabilities and issues, perform risk assessments, and evaluate remediation alternatives
Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including managers
Collaborate across Wells Fargo Technology teams, including Enterprise Architecture, security architecture, Threat Modeling and other Cybersecurity Domain teams to ensure applications are designed in compliance to company policies.
Present and train Application Security Champions and software engineers on secure design patterns and secure code libraries designed for current and evolving technologies
Lead a team to achieve objectives
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of Information Security Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
3+ years of Software Engineering experience
4+ years of Application Security experience
Desired Qualifications:
3+ years of Secure Design/Secure Architecture experience
Strong understanding of application security principles, OWASP Top 10, and common attack vectors and experience with secure coding practices and security testing tools (SAST, DAST, IAST)
Experience in software security assurance and software supply chain security
Experience with secure product design
Experience with Agile Scrum or Kanban methodologies
Experience with DevOps and CI/CD automated build and deployment processes
Security certifications such as CISSP, GIAC or equivalent
Cloud certifications such as AZ-900, MS-900 or equivalent/higher
Experience in performing security architecture reviews and threat modeling – including hybrid cloud environments
Cyber Security Controls Definition & Solutions Architecture Design based on industry specific and regulatory standards & compliances such as ISO27001, NIST 800-53, and PCI-DSS
Change management and process analysis experience
2+ years of Azure Cloud or Google Cloud Platform experience
Subject matter expert in industry security frameworks such as NIST and knowledge bases such as OWASP
Possess relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CASP+, CSSLP, CASE, GWEB or GSEC
Job Expectations:
Partial onsite work is required weekly - 3 days a week on-site/in office and 2 days a week remote

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$111,100.00 - $197,500.00
