Wells Fargo Project Manager in CHARLOTTE, North Carolina

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Project Manager to join the Commercial Banking Chief Administrative Office (CAO) - Business Enablement team.

The Business Enablement team is responsible for driving greater alignment, effectiveness, and measurement across Commercial Banking strategic initiatives to achieve our desired customer and business outcomes. This role supports the Commercial Banking Loan Accounting and Servicing portfolio team. This individual will collaborate with a team of employees and contractors within a matrixed environment. The individual will have responsibility to work with Product, LOB, Operations, and Technology partners to deliver strategic initiatives, including products and capabilities, platform modernization, process improvements and regulatory reporting priorities.

This individual must work well in a rapid-paced environment and have superior collaboration and relationship building skills with the ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization. A key success factor for this role is the ability to distill and present complex concepts in a simplified manner which includes the development and delivery of presentations, status reports, and other change effort communication materials. This role is responsible for end-to-end change effort management and must demonstrate ownership of the entire process from beginning to end while managing and mitigating risks in accordance with Enterprise Change Management Policy.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and revise complex change effort plans following the enterprise change management policy and procedures and work with users to understand risks and dependencies, focus on bringing issues to resolution, provide change effort status, and escalate as necessary to meet timelines, while adjusting for shifting priorities.

  • Lead change effort teams and manage all activities in a change effort lifecycle (initiation, planning, executing/controlling, and closing) across one or more lines of business.

  • Partner with stakeholders (including business, product, program, operations, technology, subject matter experts, sponsors, direct managers, program and product leads, risk and control managers, and outside vendors) to clarify and define change effort requirements.

  • Develop and deliver presentations and written artifacts to stakeholders on change effort status.

  • Develop and implement change effort level processes, procedures, and performance metrics.

  • Provide support per the direction of change effort leadership.

  • Ensure a successful transition to business as usual at a change effort's completion.

  • Participate in larger efforts to independently manage sub-program components and identify opportunity for smaller scale, lower risk projects such as initiation planning, executing, controlling, and closing within change management

  • Identify and capture basic project dependencies and interdependencies, ensure alignment of actions and artifacts with project policy, methodology and appropriate business deliverables are produced, maintained and milestones are met

  • Exercise independent judgment to guide project plans, budgets, resolution of issues and ensure project tasks are completed according to established timelines

  • Present recommendations for setting, tracking, and managing project financials and develop business related tasks for project planning and tracking

  • Exercise independent judgment while developing expertise in identifying, analyzing and reporting the risks related to immediate deliverables

  • Collaborate and consult with subject matter experts, sponsors, stakeholders, project roles, direct managers, program leads, project individuals, risk managers, business partners and outside vendors

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Project Management and Methodologies, Strategic Planning, or Implementation experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of project and change management experience delivering initiatives of moderate to large-scale size, scope, and complexity.

  • 2+ years of experience in the financial services industry with demonstrated achievements in the following areas: commercial lending, regulatory reporting, product management, business process management and commercial lending technology.

  • Established history of delivering 'end-to-end' change with focus on stakeholder, scope, schedule, financial, risk and dependency management.

  • Demonstrated Waterfall and Agile methodology experience and/or certifications (e.g., Scrum Alliance, SAFe, scrum master, product owner)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively at an executive level regarding project status and escalations.

  • Energetic individual contributor who is enthusiastic, flexible, and conscientious with a demonstrated ability to work in a matrixed environment.

  • Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving skills with an ability to prioritize, manage and lead multiple competing initiatives.

  • Achievement of Project Management Institute certifications including Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Program Management Professional (PgMP).

  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment across various levels of the organization where flexibility, collaboration and adaptability are important to gain commitment to accomplish business goals.

  • Demonstrated understanding of audit, regulatory compliance, and risk management framework in the implementation of change events.

  • Demonstrated ability to comprehend complex procedures, rules or regulations and manage self and others in proper execution of change events.

  • Proven ability to develop relationships across the organization including business, product, operations, and technology partners.

  • Demonstrated expertise with MS Office product suite, SharePoint, Atlassian tools (JIRA and Confluence), including the development, utilization and presentation of reporting metrics and dashboards.

  • A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree or higher is preferred.

Job Expectations:

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time

  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule

  • Willingness to work on-site in one of the listed locations
