Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain, repair, place, fabricate, install, alter, construct, and design facility components that require the application of skills in planning, problem-solving, attention to detail, teamwork, communication, and adherence to safety.
Perform routine maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and/or the physical condition of buildings does no deteriorate.
Use electrical test devices to troubleshoot and repair chiller electrical control circuits.
Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
Minimum Experience / Education:
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
University Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or equivalent and two years experience. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
High school diploma or GED equivalency; Associate’s degree from an accredited institution preferred in HVAC or Engineering Technology.
2-4 years experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration equipment specializing in chillers/cooling towers.
Knowledge and skills with Google Chrome, Microsoft Word, and Excel, and willingness to learn new programs.

Ability to operate assigned vehicles on and/or off campus and to possess, maintain, or obtain a valid driver’s license upon appointment to the position.
Ability to have effective verbal communication skills and comprehension, interpretation skills in both reading and writing.
Ability to foster and create an atmosphere of teamwork.
