Microsoft Corporation Services Contract Manager in Charlotte, North Carolina

A Services Contract Manager is responsible for approving and negotiating non-standard contractual terms in a way that balances business needs, opportunities, and risks, all with the goal of meeting both Microsoft and customer strategic objectives.  Services Contracts Manager drive a healthy business for internal and external customers, support transactional excellence, and ensure Microsoft assets are protected, all while driving adherence to Services guidelines and policies.  The Services Contract Manager supports the Public Sector Services sales organization by owning the review, negotiation, and approval of non-standard contract terms and documents.

You will be a successful Services Contract Manager if you possess sound business judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, the capability to build relationships cross-functionally, are detail-oriented, and demonstrate the flexibility needed to navigate ambiguity in a collaborative environment.  It’s critical to know how to prioritize for high impact and drive multiple initiatives to conclusion in a timely manner; proactively seek knowledge and embrace technology and be self-motivated and dedicated to assisting others learn and be successful. Another bonus is to possess a good sense of humor with the ability to adapt to a dynamic and exciting environment! 

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate services contract terms and conditions to close deals.

  • Collaborate with sales, legal, finance, and other business groups to design winning offers and deal constructs.

  • Own the review, negotiation and approval of non-standard contract terms and non-standard contract documents.

  • Drive business adherence to Services guidelines and policies.

  • Ensure negotiation strategies for services adhere to established principles and standards and help adapt those principles to the evolving technology marketplace.

  • Share best practices and coach sales teams to improve Microsoft’s deal-making capabilities and accelerate deal timelines.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 4+ years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of experience contracting with US public sector customers.

Other Requirements:

This position requires verification of citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, and as a condition of employment, the successful candidate’s citizenship will be verified with a valid passport.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Contract management experience with United States Federal or State and Local Government

  • Security clearance up to Top Secret level

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Law, IT or similar with a minimum 10 years of business experience with at least 7 years of directly applicable experience in software licensing, services and sales.

Business Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.
