We are looking for an experienced and talented Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) to join our team. The CAO will be responsible for leading the corporation's global accounting function in accordance with U.S. GAAP, current and emerging requirements of regulatory agencies, and practices appropriate within the industry. Central to the CAO’s success will be working as the Corporation’s accounting authority while establishing excellent working relationships with peers and business leaders to advise and drive towards achievement of Corporate Strategies.

  • Manages the company’s worldwide accounting activities, internal control processes, internal and external financial reporting, and accounting policies.

  • Provides guidance and direction and establishes policies with respect to accounting and financial reporting (10-K/10-Q). This includes keeping abreast of the latest SEC, AICPA, FASB, and PCAOB pronouncements.

  • Responsible for the coordination of the company’s statutory financial statement filings in 50+ countries.

  • Maintains compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and maintains a strong system of internal financial controls throughout the company. This individual will have responsibility for U.S. GAAP accounting and reporting requirements, and the day-to-day relationship with the company’s external auditors.

  • Leads the accounting staff to develop and implement global policies and procedures for accounting policies, financial and management reporting, internal controls, and financial systems.

  • Responsible for the accounting processes in Global Business Services by providing shared services via centers of excellence.

  • Oversees company-wide monthly and quarterly financial close and reporting processes, including appropriate reporting to senior management and the Audit and Finance Committee of the Board of Directors.

  • Provides guidance and support through partnering with other functional leaders in the organization to implement initiatives aligned with the overall strategy of the Company.

  • Leads preparation of the Audit Committee agenda and materials for matters related to the scope of this role.

  • Leads the standardization of processes in the CAO and GBS organizations, including providing leadership and collaboration with other business functions as necessary to improve and standardize end-to-end processes.

  • Actively manages the team in the CAO and GBS organizations to ensure that these organizations are effective and efficient in performing required duties.

  • Provides support through acquisition and integration processes, including financing due diligence, acquisition accounting, and financial process integration.

  • Builds organizational understanding, commitment, and support by formally and informally communicating objectives and results to the accounting and finance group, as well as other functional leaders as necessary to build consensus and collaboration.

Education : Bachelor’s Degree; CPA required. Master’s degree is preferred.

Years and Type of Experience : 15+ years of experience in public accounting with progressively senior accounting and controls roles.

Key Skills, Knowledge & Capabilities:

  • Experience in global product-driven companies preferably in global healthcare, consumer, and/or industrial platforms industries.

  • Experience with global shared services, establishing and leading centers of excellence, and the governance, technology, and training required.

  • Technical depth (SEC and U.S. GAAP,) and ESG knowledge with the ability to lead and instill technical excellence across a finance function suitable to a global publicly traded environment.

  • Has served as an effective partner to a CFO and Leadership Team and has driven appropriate challenges and support from finance across a business.

  • Demonstrable experience building high-performing teams and the ability to quickly identify areas of strength and opportunity, while establishing a strong sense of teamwork through the development of goals, accountability, and result-orientation.

  • Motivated self-starter with strong decision-making, communication, organizational and multi-tasking abilities that allow for identification and resolution of problems and issues quickly.

  • Demonstrated belief in a growth mindset, with the ability to take on challenges and adopt effective problem-solving strategies.

  • Ability to “tell the story” and convert detailed data and analysis into executive level content.

  • Strong presentation skills.

  • Ability to build relationships and network with different departments/functions/levels to effectively collaborate across functional disciplines and geographies.

  • Prior experience leading large complex teams with the ability to assess, engage, and develop talent.

  • Comfort working in a global business environment that is undergoing process and technology changes and standardization.

  • Embraces a strong cultural sensitivity and awareness that different business processes and requirements exist and will require harmonization.

  • Able to travel domestically and internationally around 25% of the time.
