The Administrator for the UVA Dialysis Program is responsible for the management and leadership of dialysis centers programs and outreach for the UVA Health System encompassing a 200-mile-wide geographic area within the Commonwealth. Dialysis Services is a separate Business Unit within the UVA Health System and is one of the largest dialysis programs in the United States. This position oversees both fiscal and human resource management for all dialysis services and maintains effective working relationships with physicians and staff. Works collaboratively with the Division of Nephrology within the Department of Medicine. The Administrator works closely with the Chief Financial and Business Development Officer to direct strategic initiatives for Dialysis Services including expansion opportunities. This service operates 12 distinct dialysis sites, manages at-home dialysis programs for patients, and provides dialysis services at four different community hospitals.

  • Collaborates with the Chief Ambulatory Operations Officer to provide leadership, direction, and organization within Dialysis.

  • Leads operations for the Dialysis units, to include setting and achieving goals and objectives, and leading the resolution of key operational issues.

  • Identifies strategic opportunities for clinical practice and efficiency/effectiveness in patient care delivery in partnership with the CAOO and associate chief medical officer.

  • Establishes and monitors the service, growth, and financial metrics and proposes annual goals to improve care and clinical outcomes.

  • Collaborates across UVA Health to address operational and performance issues that impact Dialysis goals.

  • Partners with administrative and clinical leaders to develop appropriate measures with proper benchmarks that will be tracked and reported to improve care and operations.

  • Manages the performance of staff and resources of dialysis clinics, promoting teamwork between/among all clinical areas within ambulatory operations.

  • Works collaboratively with the directors of nursing practice, education and research, and nursing business operations ensure adherence to nursing practice standards as well as key initiatives.

  • Ensures compliance with the Medical Center, University, State, and federal policies for all areas such as privacy, confidentiality, billing, etc.

  • Serves as a role model for the corporate and cultural values of the Health System.

Position Compensation Range: $162,157.00 - $259,459.00 Annual

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Masters of Business Administration or Master's degree in Nursing required;

Experience: Minimum seven years health care experience with progressive management responsibilities in area of renal and dialysis services.

Licensure: If an MSN degree, licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. Applicable specialty and/or administration certification strongly preferred at hire or within 3 years.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
