University of Virginia Clinical Faculty, Pediatric Allergy and Gastroenterology, Department of Pediatrics in Charlottesville, Virginia
The University of Virginia Department of Pediatrics and the divisions of Respiratory Medicine, Allergy, and Immunology and Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition invite applications for a Clinical Faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. This position will be tenure-eligible or ineligible. This position will be 75% Allergy and 25% Gastroenterology.
For the 75% Allergy component, this position will:
See general pediatrics allergy clinic patients and supervise allergy shot and biologic patients.
Attend on Allergy/Immunology inpatient consult service.
Perform oral immunotherapy (OIT) and oral food challenges (OFCs).
Utilize unique GI/Allergy expertise in caring for EGID, FPIES, Alpha-gal, and other patients whose disease processes overlap these two specialties. Perform appropriate GI procedures including EGD, colonoscopy, transnasal endoscopy and EndoFLIP in the clinical care of these patients.
See patients in satellite clinics, including Zion's Crossroads and Riverside & via telemedicine.
Teach & supervise student, resident, and fellow trainees in outpatient clinic and the inpatient consult service.
For the 25% Gastroenterology component, this position will:
Serve ½ day of general GI clinic per week.
Teach & supervise student, resident, and fellow trainees in outpatient clinic.
Participate in satellite clinic coverage commensurate to clinical FTE.
