University of Virginia Legislative Coordinator, UVA Health System in Charlottesville, Virginia

Support and coordination of all state government relations functions for the Health System and the Chief External Affairs Officer including serving as a liaison with the University government relations team to ensure alignment of priorities for both entities.

  • Supports day to day state, federal and local government relations for the Health System.

  • Responsible for the coordination, tracking, review, and preparation of summaries of relevant state and federal legislation of interest to the Health System with an emphasis on relevant actions by the Virginia General Assembly and related state agencies.

  • Coordinates and drafts advice statements and white papers and attends association and internal meetings as appropriate, to represent the interests of the Health System.

  • Plans and organizes on-site educational programs for state and federal legislative guests and off-site visits.

  • Supports Certificate of Public Need process as needed for the Health System including coordinating preparation and submission of COPN applications.

  • Provides assistance to the Chief External Affairs Officer and other external affairs team members with policy review and development.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief External Affairs Officer.

Position Compensation Range: $65,208.00 - $104,332.80 Annual

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: BA or BS degree required.

Experience: Prior government relations experience desired.

Licensure: None required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
