Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Payroll Accountant in Chaska, Minnesota. As a key player in our team, you will be mainly focused on processing and reviewing multi-state bi-weekly payroll for our employees, maintaining payroll and benefits data, and administering payroll transactions related to benefits. You will also be involved in the processing of year-end audits and other accounting functions.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process and review multi-state bi-weekly payroll for over 200 employees.

• Maintain and ensure the confidentiality of all payroll and benefits data.

• Administer payroll transactions related to benefits such as 401k, RRSP, and HSA Contributions.

• Enter Journal Entries for payroll and expenses and ensure their accuracy.

• Provide payroll reports and metrics as well as other management reports as assigned.

• Handle Workman’s Compensation Audit Requests and process premium payments.

• Process Records of Employment (ROE’s) in Canada.

• Record and verify Benefit Invoices from different vendors.

• Assist in the processing of year-end audits and year-end US W-2’s/ Canadian T4’s.

• Support HR and other teams as needed. Requirements • Minimum of one year experience in a payroll accounting role

• Proficiency in using Ceridian payroll software

• Experience in 401k and RRSP administration

• Familiarity with the 'About Time' time tracking software

• Ability to perform various accounting functions

• Experience in auditing payroll accounts

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Experience with automated payroll systems

• Knowledge of benefits payroll processing

• Familiarity with Canadian payroll regulations and procedures

• Experience in bi-monthly payroll processing

• Knowledge of accounts payable (AP) procedures
