Job Description Responsibilities * Build and lead an organization of experienced IT engineers focusing on business support and transformation for manufacturing and factory systems in our Chaska office. * Create and execute strategic plans every half year and manage the department's daily activities. * Engage with the manufacturing, engineering, and R&D BUs to understand capability roadmaps and enable their objectives. Deliver best-in-class system in support of BU objectives. Coordinate and manage quarterly business review meetings. * Earn trust with local and overseas leadership by establishing clear business cases, value propositions and measures of success for software and supporting technology and delivering as committed, and by building relationships. * set the future state vision and strategy supporting the BUs while improving the user experience and employee productivity. * Set priorities for project implementation and develop technology roadmaps aligned to regional and global corporate goals. * Demonstrate effective coordination, collaboration, and a strong mix of business acumen and technical/application expertise with focus on understanding product engineering, factory operations, and scientific tools supporting these functions. * Be a leader of leaders. This role is a senior leader of the IT and InfoSec organization and is a manager of senior managers and/or directors. * Understand the latest technology and software trends and how they support internal customer needs. Accurately judge the benefit, options, and risks of each technical request before the start of a project. * Lead the department's managers and directors in updating the department's technical roadmap(s). * Drive the department's budget planning process twice a year by coordinating with BU sponsors, project managers, and peers. Submit the budget plans by the deadline, track the spending after approval, and ensure the total expenditures are within the budget limit. * Guide new software/application development process through various SDLC (software development life cycle) phases and deliver high-quality results on time. * Build a stronger engineering team and expand capabilities through teamwork, talent acquisition, coaching, and employee training. * Occasional international and domestic travel is required (roughly 25% or less) Qualifications * 10+ years' experience required * Bachelor's degree in relevant field required; Masters or MBA preferred. * 5+ years' experience of Management experience in leading technical teams required * Director or equivalent leadership experience preferred. * Successful experience in managing software/application engineering teams and business transformation programs * Excellent leadership skills and ability to inspire and coach team members * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to filter and distill relevant information for the right audience * In-depth knowledge of high-tech manufacturing and understanding of the software systems that support that support them * Experience in two+ of the following disciplines: software development engineering, MES, ERP, SCM, factory systems * Ability to speak Japanese highly desired Physical Demands and Work Conditions The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand, as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supp ies, up to thirty-five pounds. This position also requires 4 to 6 hours per day at a computer screen/keyboard.
