Robert Half Human Resources (HR) Assistant in Chattanooga, Tennessee

Description We are offering a role in the government industry located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The position is for a Human Resources (HR) Assistant with a focus on the manual audit of payroll timesheets for union investigations. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough manual audits of payroll timesheets to ascertain their accuracy and adherence to union regulations as well as company policies.

• Cross-reference timesheets with relevant documents such as attendance records, shift schedules, and project assignments to ensure consistency and accuracy.

• Identify any discrepancies, inconsistencies, or errors in timesheets and escalate these issues to the appropriate stakeholders for resolution.

• Maintain detailed records of audit findings, including identified discrepancies, corrective actions taken, and any communication with employees or supervisors.

• Collaborate with payroll administrators, supervisors, and employees to resolve any discrepancies or issues identified during the audit process.

• Utilize the Kronos Timekeeping System and other relevant tools to ensure accuracy and approved timesheets. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an HR role within the government sector

• Proficiency in using Kronos Timekeeping System

• Demonstrated ability to approve timesheets

• Proven track record of ensuring accuracy in all HR-related duties

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality

• Familiarity with government HR regulations and procedures

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred

• Advanced skills in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word

• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and initiative

• Experience in staff onboarding and offboarding processes.
