The Chattanooga Heart Institute offers the most comprehensive cardiac care available in this region. Founded in 1976 we now have six offices in Tennessee and one in Georgia. Our practice is made up of 29 board-certified cardiologists and four cardiothoracic surgeons. We merged with CHI Memorial Health Care System in 2011 which is part of CommonSpirit Health. Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for utilizing training and skills to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a physician.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Obtain medical histories when necessary.

• Perform physical exams.

• Diagnose, treat and monitor chronic diseases.

• Order diagnostic test.

• Prescribe or recommend medications for prescription for medications and treatment.

• Promote positive lifestyle habits to all patients through education and counseling.

• Assure charts are signed off appropriately.

• Maintain patient's privacy and confidentiality.

• Assist doctors with hospital rounds.

• Work closely with other nurses to assure patient flow is efficient.

• Consult with physician regarding patient symptoms to assure proper diagnosis and plan of treatment.

Qualifications

ACUTE CARE ADVANCED PRACTICE NURSE

License/Certification:

• Current/valid APN license from state of TN

• Current/valid RN license from state of TN

• BLS Certification

• ACLS Certification

Qualifications:

• 1 year previous experience as an NP in an Acute or Primary Care Setting

• Equivalent RN experience

• Cardiology experience preferred.

Pay Range

$48.26 - $57.67/hour + Incentives
