Job Description

A client of Insight Global's is actively looking for a Physical Substation Engineer to join their Physical Engineering Design team on a hybrid basis out of their Chattanooga, TN office. The engineer will create detailed physical designs of Power Substations ranging in voltage levels from 12.5k to 500kv for various projects. This will include substation layouts, foundation layouts, grounding plans, control house layouts, conduit/cable schedules, general arrangements, grounding calculations, etc. They will mainly utilize AutoCAD and MicroStation for design deliverables. They will oversee multiple project designs at once, that are at different levels of completion, so they need to have experience balancing multiple project designs/at once. Additionally, they will be interacting with their customers to meet their schedule and budgeting requirements and will have the opportunity of mentoring and training junior engineers and designers.

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

• 5+ years of physical substation design experience

• Experience designing with AutoCAD or MicroStation - EIT or PE null
