Reporting Relationship: Receives direct supervision from the Director of Property Management, Facilities Foreman, or his/her designee, who will assign and review work for conformance with standards. Job Duties and Responsibilities:Performs and assists with the work of a skilled trade to limited extent, such as carpentry, painting, masonry, plastering, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical.Performs manual labor as required in the ongoing repair of physical structures and grounds, including snow removal and lawn care and landscaping.Cleans heating and/or cooling systems, lubricates equipment, adjusts motors, pumps, and other mechanical equipment. Operates power and hand tools such as floor scrubber, and buffing equipment.Responsible for maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition.Takes remedial action to ensure correction of all safety hazards, reports same as appropriate.Monitors preventative maintenance program in the agency’s facilities.Small engine maintenance and repair.Performs other maintenance and repair work on equipment as required.Good computer skills for utilizing software for work orders, timesheets, training, email and online ordering. Etc.When necessary, move items including but not limited to furniture, equipment, appliances, and personal belongingsPerforms outside maintenance, such as power washing, gutter repair, and cleaning.Special events set up and other supportive functions.Communicates professionally and effectively with coworkers, other agency staff, contractors and those we serve.Contact and coordinate service by outside contractors.May be required to work at various locations within the agency depending on program need and/or on-call basis/coverage.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications and Education Requirements:High School diploma or equivalent diploma PLUS two years’ experience in general maintenance and repairs.PLUSPosition requires mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.Skilled trade knowledge in areas such as carpentry, painting, masonry, plastering and plumbing.Ability to operate motor vehicles/equipment such as pick-up trucks and cargo vans, vans and skid steer loaders is preferred. If inexperienced in such areas has a willingness to learn/be trained.Valid driver’s license is required. Ability to work in various weather conditions, shovel snow if necessary, operate snow blowers and lift heavy objects; ability to use basic power and hand tools.
