Job Description POSITION/TITLE: SANITATION REPORTS TO: SANITATION SUPERVISOR POSITION SUMMARY: A sanitation associates work with Supervisor to maintain Standard Operating Procedures, staff training (OSHA, equipment processes). Works closely with Maintenance on various projects. Cleans all aspects of the bakery in compliance with the Master Sanitation Schedule including equipment, internal and external facilities, and other duties as needed. Primary Function: Responsible for cleaning all areas of facility. Assemble and disassembles production machinery for the purpose of thorough cleaning. Report all signs of wear and tear, erosion, and bad or malfunctioning parts to the maintenance department immediately. Move supplies, products or equipment as directed. Maintain a neat and orderly sanitation supply room. Follows GMP & OSHA Standards as required, including Personal Protective Equipment requirements, uniform standards. May be asked to participate in Safety Meetings. Maintain Standard Operating Procedures. Assist with Maintenance projects as needed. Assist Supervisor with training as needed (OHSA, equipment processes). May be asked to complete duties other than those stated above. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE DESIRED: G.E.D. desired, but not required. Prior work in a cleaning environment, especially a bakery is desired. Prior sanitation/cleaning experience is highly desired. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Mechanical aptitude required. Requires the use of judgment to plan, perform and make decisions as to the sequence of set-ups, operations and processes within the limitations of standard procedures. Ability to communicate verbally. Reading and writing in English required. Ability to work independently. Ability to work as a member of team. Flexibility and willingness to learn are required. Prior industrial powered lift experience required. OSHA training desired. REGULATORY RESPONSIBLITIES: Member of Safety Team. Represents regulatory compliance, food safety responsibility and authority. Accountable for ensuring adherence to GMP standards. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Frequent bending; Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds (often overhead); Constant walking; 80% - 90% standing; 90% - 95% talking; 100% hearing; Frequent pushing and pulling of bakery equipment. Frequent reaching and climbing; Close and distance vision required.
