DT Professional Services Assistant Facilities & Security Officer in Chesapeake, Virginia

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced part-time (29 hours/week) Assistant Facilities & Security Officer to join our remote team supporting our Chesapeake, VA office! In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Facilities Security Officer (FSO) and Facilities Manager to manage security and facilities functions, ensuring compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) regulations and corporate requirements. Your primary responsibilities will include supporting the security program, managing facilities operations, and maintaining a safe and efficient workplace for employees, visitors, and customers. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to both the security and operational efficiency of our organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and process security clearances and visit requests, ensuring compliance with DoD requirements

  • Support the submission of Electronic Applications (eApp) and contribute to the development and execution of security training programs

  • Implement security measures to safeguard classified and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) by applying federal security regulations

  • Oversee building access control, including handling access cards, maintaining visitor logs, and securing sensitive areas

  • Assist with facility management by conducting regular inspections and overseeing custodial services to maintain the integrity of the facility

  • Conduct asset audits and manage inventory to ensure compliance with safety standards

  • Coordinate procurement of supplies, oversee organizational shipping requirements, and manage vendor contracts, ensuring work is completed effectively

  • Provide general administrative support, including generating reports, setting up meetings, and completing special projects by managing time efficiently

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Some college experience or equivalent work experience

  • Active DoD issued Secret Clearance OR a previously held DoD issued Secret Clearance

  • Experience in facilities maintenance or related functions

  • Knowledge of facilities security programs and regulations

  • Understanding of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proven ability to successfully utilize Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps

  • Certification for FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities must be completed within 6 months of hire

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in DoD security.

  • Ability to develop and implement new processes

  • Knowledge of CMMI or ISO certification processes

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field

  • 2+ years of experience with government programs

    The compensation range for this position: $25.00 - $30.00 an hour.
