Robert Half Benefits Administrator in Chesapeake, Virginia

Description We are in search of a meticulous Benefits Administrator to become a part of our team within the local government sector, located in Chesapeake, Virginia. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. As a Benefits Administrator, your primary responsibilities will involve managing employee benefits, calculating premiums, and handling payroll deductions. You will also be tasked with reconciling different plan accounts and utilizing Excel extensively.

Responsibilities:

• Enroll new employees in benefits programs in a timely and accurate manner.

• Calculate missing premiums for employees and update payroll deductions accordingly.

• Frequently use Excel to maintain and manage employee benefits data.

• Reconcile up to 8 different plan accounts to ensure accuracy and consistency.

• Utilize skills in account reconciliation to ensure all financial data is accurate.

• Administer benefits such as medical, dental, and retirement to employees.

• Conduct benefits analysis to ensure the best options are provided to employees.

• Handle additional responsibilities as a backup to payroll, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time.

• Leverage experience in benefits administration to improve and streamline processes.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of benefits regulations and policies to ensure compliance. Requirements • Possess at least 3 years of experience in Benefits Administration

• Proficient in Account Reconciliation

• Skilled in Benefits Analysis

• Experience in handling Dental Benefits

• Knowledge of Medical Benefits management

• Familiarity with Retirement Benefits administration

• Must have the ability to work in a local government environment

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Ability to interpret and apply benefits policies, plan provisions, and regulations

• Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
