Dollar Tree Cloud Security Engineer in Chesapeake, Virginia

As a Cloud Security Engineer, your role is to ensure the security and integrity of cloud-based systems and applications. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to protect sensitive data and infrastructure within cloud environments. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and IT operations, to identify security risks and implement effective security controls.

Duties:

  • Design and develop cloud security architectures and solutions aligned with industry best practices, compliance requirements, and organizational security policies.

  • Evaluate and select appropriate security tools, technologies, and services for cloud environments.

  • Implement security controls, including encryption, identity and access management, network security, and monitoring.

  • Assess and secure cloud infrastructure components such as virtual machines, containers, storage, and networks.

  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits to identify and address weaknesses.

  • Implement secure configuration management practices for cloud resources.

  • Monitor and respond to security incidents, including intrusion detection and prevention.

  • Implement strong authentication mechanisms, such as multi-factor authentication (MFA) and identity federation.

  • Configure and manage security monitoring tools to detect and respond to security events.

  • Analyze security logs, investigate incidents, and recommend remediation actions.

  • Develop and maintain incident response plans and playbooks.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure security on GCP or Azure or OCI

  • 10+ years of experience in IT security/engineering roles supporting a diverse range of technologies

  • Ability to multi-task and work independently in a distributed business environment

  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing platforms, such as Azure, OCI or Google Cloud Platform.

  • In-depth understanding of cloud security principles, best practices, and architectures.

  • Experience with security technologies and tools, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), SIEM, and vulnerability scanners.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams

Minimum Education Level and Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical disciple or commensurate experience (10+ years) in IT Infrastructure security roles

  • GCP, Azure, OCI certifications such as Associate Cloud Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect

  • Experience with DevOps practices such as CI/CD, version control, and testing
