The Manager Business Solutions – Store Systems is responsible for defining and managing IT solutions for Store systems. This is a key leadership position that supports the Director in defining and managing IT solutions for Store System business needs. The Business Solutions Manager works as a supporting strategic advisor to their business units on the best options in solving IT related business issues (day to day and long term). This role will lead and manage the quality of the deliverables for the team of Business Analysts that are responsible for documenting business requirements for requested solutions/enhancements. This role will be assigned projects and is responsible for the communication and coordination of all phases of IT project development through implementation (design, development, test and production).This role must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of management both within and outside of the IT department.

Primary Duties:

  • Serve as second in command and supporting leader of the Store Systems technology team

  • Collaborate with technology teams to keep initiatives moving forward on the Portfolio Roadmap

  • Contribute to the definition of roadmaps that align to long term business objectives

  • Serve on departmental process improvement initiatives

  • Coordinate business strategy with the tactical work of IT

  • Educate business on applications and processes

  • Help identify opportunities for business units to optimize and find efficiencies

  • Help translate strategy and objectives into manageable, step-by-step action plans

  • Step in and speak to the Store Systems Portfolio on behalf of the Director

  • Manage relationships with stakeholders, and key vendors and service providers

Lead and mentor team of Business Analysts

  • Perform team capacity planning, work prioritization and resource allocation

  • Define and ensure adherence to project management processes, templates, standards

  • Manage deliverable quality to ensure solutions meet requirements

Serve as primary project lead on selected initiatives

  • Develop and maintain project plans with detailed tasks, activities, deliverables and timelines

  • Continuously assess and re-evaluate project priorities; develop contingency plans

  • Facilitate project schedules and meetings

  • Document project decisions, action items, issues and risks

  • Maintain project document repositories

  • Serve as primary liaison with external vendors

  • Maintain, manage and report on project financial budgets, actuals and forecasts

  • Prepare project status reports and steering committee presentations

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support business objectives and fulfill the corporate Mission

Required Qualification

  • Bachelors in business, engineering, computer science, MIS or other four-year related degree and 8+ years of experience as a Program Manager equivalent-role, OR 10+ years of relevant experience

  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, including MS Visio and SharePoint

  • Advanced oral and written communication skills with strong ability to influence and work with cross-functional teams

  • Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle

  • Prior supervisory experience for direct reports

  • Experience managing large, complex, cross-functional technology projects

  • Retail Store relevant systems, operations execution work experience using various technologies:

  • Point of Sale

  • Inventory Management

  • Communication and tasking

  • Mobile solutions

  • Workforce management

  • Reporting tools

  • Proficient using Data Analytics tools and Query language

Preferred Qualifications

  • Retail or consumer products experience supporting technical initiatives and implementations

  • Team player with aptitude to build and maintain positive and collaborative working relationships

  • High attention to detail with analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Self-starter with sense of urgency and drive to work towards results and meet deadlines in a constantly changing fast paced environment

  • Ability to work independently, and manage multiple initiatives concurrently to completion

  • Experience working in a multi-banner integration environment

  • Experience managing the work of internal and external contractors

  • PMP or other professional certification
