Dollar Tree Merchandise Logistics Analyst - DT in Chesapeake, Virginia

Summary of Position

The principal purpose of this position is to support Merchandise by proactively solving challenges related to inbound logistics in order to drive better business. Be the liaison between our vendors partners, internal logistics/transportation teams, DC personnel, and the business team to ensure on time and in full pickups.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day operational support of Merchandise colleagues – to include specialized attention on key programs, Events, or high priority PO#s

  • Dedicated Logistics support to vendor partners to help resolve routing issues, transportation related issues, and/or elevated logistics challenges

  • Communicate direction to Logistics regarding priorities for the dept.

  • Weekly update at CPR meetings on vendor progress, late PO#s, and other relevant business

  • Promote the success rate of new vendors.

  • Represent Merchandise during resolution of freight claims or damaged goods that are rejected at the DC. Obtain freight disposition from the vendor when necessary

  • Ad hoc audit of problematic vendors – identify root cause & implement solution(s)

  • Work with Merchandise to refine current processes or suggest & develop new tools to enhance supply chain tracking from the merchandise perspective.

  • Provide feedback to leadership on current tools and improvements needed

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

Job related skills:

  • Professional, with good verbal and written communication skills

  • Commitment to following up and following through

  • Understanding of Supply Chain, Transportation, and Logistics

  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously; prioritize and organize workload

  • Attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to develop documents, reporting, and presentations

  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment – comfortable with the unpredictability of change while maintaining a high level of performance

  • Ability to confidently navigate and manage large sets of data or information

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, Access

  • Proficiency in Windows-based programs

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Merchandising, or equivalent relevant work experience (3 years)

Experience:

  • +3 or more years of related experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Vendor Compliance, or in a Business Analyst capacity
