Educational Data Systems Inc Facilitator in Chester, Pennsylvania

Salary $45,000 year

Hours: 10:00-7:00 Monday-Thursday, 8:00-4:30 Friday

 

Scope of Position

· Maintain a classroom conducive to learning

· Model positive and professional behavior

· Deliver workshops at each Center on a regular basis to engage customers and prepare them with the skills they need to find jobs

· Provide facilitator coverage for other workshops

· Facilitate workshops to program customers to enable them to have the tools needed for a successful start to their new career

· Develop effective promotional materials and strategies for program staff to use in promoting workshop attendance

· Support the use of virtual tools and services

· Support all the other teams

· Assist jobseekers with creating resumes

· Conduct mock interviews with program customers

· Proctor computerized exams

· Other opportunities as available

Responsibilities

Create and maintain an environment that promotes opportunities for quality interaction and learning through:

o Establishing clear expectations and encouraging client accountability

o Implementing a structure and plan consistent with prescribed curriculum goals

o Maintaining an awareness of differences in individual learning styles and strengths

o Tutoring Youth program participants to prepare them to pass required assessments, particularly in the areas of math and reading

o Providing support and assistance to Youth program participants in all areas related to gaining and/or retaining employment and career advancement

o Due to the dynamics of working with individuals, this position necessitates an individual who is comfortable working in an environment that is constantly evolving

o ·This position requires an organized individual who can efficiently handle several responsibilities simultaneously

· Assist in the preparation and administration of study guides/materials

· Create solutions to participant attendance problems

· Oversee participant activities and assist with coordination of workshop schedules

· Provide individual or small group instructions to prepare participants for academic and occupational assessments/tests

· Provide individualized assessment of work, family, and personal development needs and opportunities

· Provide referrals to appropriate community service or social service agencies when needed

· Document all participant contacts and activities in case notes and ensure that post-placement contacts are made as required by specific contract

· Share information with appropriate staff and/or funding agencies

· Maintain participant files as specified by contractor

· Build a professional one-on-one working relationship with participants to aid in eliminating challenges that are hindrances to enrolling in training programs. This includes assessment, individualized attention, and coordination.

· Ensure participants follow through with planned activities and required hours as outlined in the contract with the funding agency

· Ensure that positive outcomes and goals are met as required by contract

· Coordinate bi-weekly voluntary group meetings with participants to discuss barriers and concerns

· Proctor all Pre and Post CASAS Testing

· Work evening hours (until 7pm) at CareerLink locations

Qualifications

· Able to interact with a wide variety of individuals and demonstrate a positive professional attitude

· Experience in a team-oriented environment

· Driver's License Required

· Bachelor's Degree in business, education, training, human resources, liberal arts, or related area is preferred
