Job Description

Assistant Director, Health and Wellness

The Assistant Director of Health and Wellness is responsible for health education, promotion, prevention, and will be involved in the development of strategies and health communication and marketing campaigns for student health. The Assistant Director works collaboratively across the department, division, and university to enhance student awareness and education about wellness-focused behaviors and activities. This role oversees the management and direction of the Institute for Wellness Coaching (IWC) in its entirety including recruitment, selection, training, continuing education, curriculum development, scheduling, tracking, marketing, promotion, assessment, and the management of all the Wellness Coaches. In addition, this role assists the Director with a variety of wellness initiatives.

As part of this role the Assistant Director works with the Director in consulting with faculty and staff to infuse health and wellness into the classroom and work across the University. This role is instrumental in engaging campus partners to plan and implement University-wide education including directing Wellfest, an annual major student health event.

In addition, the Assistant Director supervises the departmental graduate student staff person who supports the Institute and other initiatives.

In order to create a more inclusive community within the Division of Student Affairs, each staff member is expected to support division and university-wide initiatives, staff events, and serve on committees as needed.

Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $63,800 to $79,750; salary commensurate with relevant experience.

Requirements

• This role requires a Master’s degree in higher education, health education, health promotion, public health, social work, counseling, or a related field.

• Experience in health or education field, public health, mental health counseling, social work, higher education; experience working with college students
