Job Description

The Assistant Director, Undergraduate Admissions performs a variety of duties related to undergraduate admissions, enrollment, and financial aid throughout the lifecycle for prospective WCAS students. The individual counsels students at all points of the enrollment funnel, and is a main point of contact for Woods undergraduate and graduate students who have questions about enrollment (including but not limited to program information, the application process, and financial aid opportunities). Further, this position communicates with applicants, works closely with Student Services, the Admissions Committee, supports enrollment management leadership team, helps with other admissions and enrollment projects and operations, and provides general office support as needed

Key Responsibilities:

● Counsel and advise prospective students regarding admissions and financial aid application processes, financial planning and financial assistance, degree programs and other inquiries

● Nurture prospective students at all levels of the admissions funnel from inquiry to registration.

● Conduct interviews of students and review applications in preparation for committee reviews

● Serve as a member of the Admissions committee to evaluate and make recommendations on the selection of candidates for admission

● Develop and deliver dynamic and engaging presentations designed to promote the institution and attract a diverse and talented applicant pool

● Provide guidance to students and parents in completion of essential items such as the enrollment forms, financial aid forms, and connecting with their advisor.

● Interpret and provide information on admissions and financial aid policies for internal and external audiences

● Develop and maintain effective, collaborative working relationships with internal and external colleagues and constituents

● Assist in planning and implementing recruitment and financial aid strategy to attract a diverse and talented applicant pool

● Assist in the execution of targeted marketing strategies to attract a diverse and talented applicant pool

● Generate and use data and analysis to assist leadership to improve outreach and recruitment efforts

● Represent the university at national, virtual, and local events

● Collaborate with Office of Financial Aid by researching and cataloging opportunities for external financial aid to provide to prospective students as additional options for financing their education

● In collaboration with Financial Aid, provide advice and counsel about available financial aid opportunities, eligibility requirements, the application process and college resources to students and parents in-person, over the phone and via email.

● Ensure compliance with university admissions policies and procedures and applicable legal rules and regulations with respect to students' rights to privacy

● Contribute multimedia, digital, and social media content for admissions and financial aid purposes

● Assist in the maintenance and execution of communications and marketing in Woods CRM

● Provide support and information to the Program Directors

● May need to work a flexible schedule, including extended hours during peak service periods and special events.

● Provide occasional rotational coverage to meet the needs of evening or Saturday operations.

● Performs other related duties as assigned

Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $55,850 to $69,800; salary commensurate with relevant experience.

Requirements

● Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complicated policies and processes in easily understandable language.

● Highly organized with attention to detail

● Ability to fully utilize Microsoft Office suite of products

● Knowledge of the Boston College software system (Slate, FolderWave, Eagle Apps, Agora, Canvas) highly desirable

● Collaborative work style and passionate about the BC and WCAS mission and serving non-traditional and professional education students

One or more years of previous experience working in admissions, student services, or similar settings in higher education.

Bachelor’s degree required
