About our Team

The Public Safety Special Investigative Unit (SIU) is comprised of former law enforcement experts, sworn and civilian, who leverage the full suite of LexisNexis solutions and data offerings to provide real-time investigative insight for LexisNexis customers. The Public Safety Special Investigative Unit (SIU), also serves to work with the sales team by analyzing data and monitoring production, building best practices, procedures and supporting functions required to maintain the quality and timely delivery of information. The SIU team aids law enforcement during critical incidents and major investigations and is available to provide support remotely or onsite, when applicable.

About the Role

This position exists to provide assistance to the sales team in bridging the gap between customer requirements and production outcomes as a subject matter expert on LexisNexis solutions within the SIU. This analyst will also provide investigative case assistance to customers based on former law enforcement experience. This position will be capable of large dataset analysis and well-versed in both tactical and strategic investigations. The ability to conduct research analysis while fully integrating all available tools to develop a deliverable will be key. Investigative assistance may include local, state and/or federal criminal violations, and/or administrative analysis.

You will be responsible for: ​

  • Learning and applying industry-standard analytic software tools at an Expert level, including but not limited to, Microsoft Suite of tools, ESRI ArcGIS, i2 Analysts Notebook, and proprietary LexisNexis suite of solutions.

  • Maintaining positive customer relationships through detailed analysis of potentially large data sets over the lifecycle of the contract.

  • Actively participating in product testing for LexisNexis tools to include the current suite of products, new products being brought to market, training content, and other materials.

  • Analyzing data provided by customers to identify crime and provide insight into crime solutions and customer workflow.

  • Communicating directly with customers to integrate crime solution product understanding, implementation, and best practices.

  • Identifying key crime trends in data analyzed.

  • Providing analytical insights to customer from proactive data analysis

  • Proactively identifying issues in data that need to be fixed.

  • Researching and resolving quality control issues as discovered or assigned

  • Providing innovative ideas on product improvements and enhancements to manager for incorporation into new and existing products.

  • Representing LexisNexis Risk Solutions at customer-facing events and with customers.

  • Preparing and providing input on customer-facing presentations and deliverables.

  • Operating professionally and effectively, often without direct supervision, while conducting high-quality analysis.

  • Assisting with LexisNexis Risk Solutions Marketing Webinars.

  • Performing all other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

  • Have 4+ years’ experience in Law Enforcement.

  • Have Bachelor's or Higher in a relevant field of study.

  • Have expert presentation skills.

  • Have ability to obtain the required customer security clearances.

  • Have experience in managing large customer-facing solutions

  • Have expert organizational and time management skills and keen attention to detail.

  • Have ability to present with confidence and gain trust of the law enforcement customer.

  • Have demonstrated competence in logical application to research and problem solving.

  • Have proficiency in Word, Access, Excel, etc. along with other analytical solutions.

  • Have experience in i2 Analyst Notebook, PowerBi, ESRI, Python, SQL would be advantageous.

  • Have solid interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Have ability to travel up to 50%.

  • Have ability to work in a team setting and independently.

  • Have experience in LexisNexis Risk Solutions tools would be advantageous.

    Physical and/or logical access to criminal justice information is an essential function of this role. The successful candidate will be required to pass both the standard company background check for all employees and an enhanced criminal background check conducted by the Company’s state and local law enforcement partners conducted in compliance with the FBI’s Criminal Justice Information System (“CJIS”) security policy. Employees in this role may also be subject to ongoing criminal background checks as required by the Company’s state and local law enforcement partners. Candidates and/or employees who are not certified by state and local law enforcement to access criminal justice information will not be able to perform the essential functions of this role. Employees who subsequently fail to obtain or maintain CJIS compliance may be reassigned or terminated.
