The Role at a Glance

We are excited to bring on a Senior Payroll Implementation Consultant to join our Retirement Services organization supporting Workplace Solutions in a remote environment.

Background Details

As a Senior Payroll Implementation Consultant, you be responsible for providing strategic focus on complex projects, driving customized client payroll integrations. You will provide subject matter expertise and direction to internal and external stakeholders on complex payroll implementations and the handling of special requests. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and strengthening relationships with internal and external customers, analyzing complex payroll issues and being an advocate on behalf of the customer for driving positive change. What you'll be doing

  • You will develop, maintain and execute strategic client relationship payroll implementations, ensuring that the clients’ overall service needs are satisfied while achieving the business, profitability and retention objectives.

  • You will serve as a subject matter expert and point of escalation while providing guidance to internal stakeholders on complex payroll implementation solutions which optimize client satisfaction, retention and achieves desired business results. You will manage the day-to-day vendor relationship and seek win-win solutions when conflicts arise.

  • You will meet simultaneous needs of different internal clients and manage and resolve complex issues and conflict with clients, vendors, and other third parties. You will also participate in the vendor selection, evaluation and education processes.

  • You will mentor and provide direction to junior team members on payroll implementations and relationship management solutions to optimize client satisfaction and enhance the capability of the team. You will also recommend team workflow and assignments to ensure appropriate resource utilization and priority management.

  • You will determine best practices for payroll implementation and suggest improvements to current quality processes, standards and practices. You will provide input into the overall design of the customer experience, advising senior management and key stakeholders on the future direction of payroll implementation and technologies.

  • You will build, enhance and maintain relationships with existing internal/external clients as well as with payroll contacts at client organizations, ensuring clients’ overall service needs are satisfied.

  • You will identify, recommend and champion process improvements and organizational initiatives to positively influence the team and quality.

What we’re looking for

Must-have experience (Required):

  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's).

  • 5 – 7+ Years of experience in retirement plan payroll and/or relationship management that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position.

  • Strong skills in the areas of organization, negotiation, persuasion, presentation, and problem solving.

  • Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely (both orally and in written form) through presentations.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Nice-to have Experience (Preferred):

  • Experience developing strategic approaches and managing strategically focused projects.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to be consultative with internal/external stakeholders of all levels.

  • Demonstrated strong relationship management skills; proven ability to develop collaborative approaches.

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 20%

The pay range for this position is $105,301 - $190,000 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
