Uber Accommodations Program Manager in Chicago, Illinois

About the Role

We're looking for an Accommodations Program Manager responsible for managing Uber's Reasonable Accommodation (Medical & Religious) program.

The Accommodations Program Manager is responsible for the development of the workplace accommodation's strategy, operations, and day to day case management in US&C. You will partner closely with our internal Benefits, Employment Legal and HR teams, along with our external Leave Administrator. This role will serve as a subject matter expert in the space to employees, managers, and internal HR teams.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage and engage in the interactive process with US&C employees with reasonable accommodation needs

  • Consult with employees and internal teams to understand job requirements, individual disability limitations and feasibility of requested accommodations

  • Daily management of HR contractor(s) who support US&C accommodations case management

  • Provide leadership and operational oversight of third party leave vendor

  • Produce and analyze reports and metrics to identify trends, discrepancies and potential areas of program improvement

  • Administer a comprehensive workplace accommodation function in compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations and Uber policies

  • Build & Enhance Disability Enablement across the global organization through employee, manager, and HR training & enablement

  • Build frameworks and operating procedures for the global HR teams (outside US&C) that enables them to manage employee accommodation needs independently -- consult as a subject matter expert as needed

  • Define and improve leave and accommodation management workflows, policies, procedures, and communication strategies that enhance the global employee experience

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional, related experience as a HR generalist/advisor, business partner or project/program manager in the human resources/benefits discipline

  • Solid knowledge of US federal/state leave of absence, disability and accommodation laws, including the ADA, FMLA

  • Experience with coaching line managers & peers on HR, benefits, and accommodation processes and supporting them in strengthening their leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of comprehensive experience in Accommodation Case Management

  • Solid understanding of the workplace accommodation process

  • Proven capability of providing employee and manager HR consultations

  • Strong analytical skills and logical thought processes, with the ability to identify and resolve sophisticated and sensitive HR issues/problems

  • Proven effective partner management and collaboration with other teams to deliver a consistent employee experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; and strong project management expertise

  • Workday experience and/or experience using ServiceNow or similar case management system is a plus

  • PHR and/or CPDM certification

  • Knowledge of Canadian leave of absence and accommodation laws and practices

  • Strong business acumen. Ability to understand Uber's businesses and how data can inform our people and business objectives

For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$112,000 per year - USD$124,000 per year. For Dallas, TX-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$112,000 per year - USD$124,000 per year. For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$112,000 per year - USD$124,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
