Our Actuaries are on the front lines, quantifying risk, pricing insurance and reserving losses for AIG’s major insurance operating companies, globally. We collaborate with Finance, Claims, Operations, Marketing and Risk Management, among other functions. As an AIG actuary, you will be challenged and encouraged to reach your greatest potential to help improve how we predict, manage and mitigate risk.
How you will create an impact
We are seeking an actuarial professional with industry expertise to assist with the Foreign Casualty business. The Actuary will be mainly responsible for pricing and supporting the Foreign Casualty Profit Centre. The position involves profitability analysis, maintaining and improving new and existing raters, and assisting with planning for National Accounts and WorldRisk. They will partner with other actuaries in implementing best practices, analytical techniques and assessing the impact of loss trends and claims emergence.
Monitor the monthly rate level indications and communicate outliers.
Assist in large account pricings including security calculations for National Accounts. Business consists of General Liability, Casualty Auto and Workers Compensation.
Assist in the annual planning processes, including profitability studies, data extractions and data collection in collaboration with our International Actuaries.
Perform data manipulations and work with the data team to drive process improvements.
Provide actuarial support for quarterly reporting, such as Actual versus Expected, quarterly close processes, etc.
Assist in maintaining the Quote and Bind Tool (QBT) for National Accounts in collaboration of our business partners.
Assist in the development of new raters for National Accounts.
Work effectively as part of a team and train any junior staff in order to achieve financial, strategic and operational objectives.
What you’ll need to succeed
BS in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related area
Completed 2 or more actuarial exams
2 years or more experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Work well both independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in Excel, SQL and Snowflake
Working experience with VBA, Python, R or other programming languages highly preferred
Willingness to pick up new programming languages and tools as needed
Effective time management skill
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
