Job Description

Position Overview

As the Associate, Project Controls Analytics, you will be responsible for developing and managing data pipelines, ETL processes, and data models to support effective reporting and analytics for renewable energy projects. A critical component of this role is ensuring data security, including implementing row-level and object-level security to protect confidential information. You will extract and transform data from various sources, such as databases, data lakes, and repositories, and write SQL queries to model the data for efficient loading into Microsoft Power BI. The role involves collaboration with the Enterprise Data team and encourages knowledge of project controls, scheduling, and cost management procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Extract, transform, and load data from various sources, including databases, data lakes, and external APIs.
  • Write complex SQL queries and optimize data models for Power BI reports.
  • Implement and manage row-level and object-level security to ensure data confidentiality and integrity.
  • Utilize Python and Databricks to manage and manipulate data while ensuring security standards are met.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Data team to ensure seamless data integration across Microsoft services such as Dataverse, Dataflows, and Azure Data Lake.
  • Develop and maintain Microsoft SQL databases and Power Apps, incorporating security measures to protect sensitive data.
  • Understand and apply project controls, scheduling, and cost management principles in data analysis.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation and data flow diagrams, including security protocols.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security across all systems.
  • Support ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests as directed by management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience focused on data pipelines, ETL processes, back-end data management, and data security.
  • Expertise in using a data manipulation language, preferably Python.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience in creating and optimizing data models for reporting.
  • 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Suite applications and tools such as Dataverse, Dataflows, SQL Server, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Apps, Azure Data Lake, and Databricks.
  • Proficiency in implementing row-level and object-level security and protecting confidential information.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to create clear data flow diagrams and security documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Able to travel up to 5% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor\'s degree in a related field; engineering, computer science, finance, or information systems.
  • Familiarity with project controls and cost management procedures.
