Intrinsic Schools Choreographer for VAPA Productions (“Hadestown” & “Heathers”) in Chicago, Illinois
This is a PAI D Temporary assignment
Intrinsic School, a nonprofit charter school company located in Belmont Cragin Neighborhood, is staging this show with the following schedule:
Auditions & Callbacks:
Hadestown
Auditions: October Monday October 7th October 8th // 4:00pm to 6pm
Callbacks: Oct. 12th // 10am - 2pm
Heathers
Auditions: January 7th, 2025 & January 9th, 2025 // 4:00pm - 6:00pm
Callbacks: January 11th, 2025 // 10am - 2pm
Rehearsal: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday ( 4:00p - 6:30p) and Saturday (10am - 2pm)
Start Dates: Hadestown October 14th // Heathers: January 13th
Tech Week : Hadestown - December 9th - December 12th // Heathers - March 3rd - March 6th
Production Dates :
Hadestown:
December 13 (7:30pm), December 14 (3:00pm & 7:30pm) December 15th (3:00pm)
Heathers :
March 7 (7:30pm), March 8 (7:30pm), March 9 (3:00pm), March 14 (7:30pm), March 15 (7:30pm), March 16 (3:00pm)
Responsibilities:
Attend auditions & teach movement combo at each session.
Assist the Director with creating the artistic vision for the musical production.
Create choreography for the production’s dance numbers
Train cast (leads and ensemble) in proper dance and movement technique
Record choreography for actors to rehearse in their own time
Attend rehearsals as needed to clean any movement and choreography
Work with the director to ensure the vision of the show is being met
Attend tech week to ensure spacing and stage pictures are correct.
