About the Department

The Center for Personalized Therapeutics researches pharmacogenomics on two levels: Discovery and implementation. Clinical Research Coordinators work on an ongoing implementation project which provides a system for clinicians to use patients\' genetic information when making medication decisions.

Job Summary

The Clinical Research Coordinator 2 will focus on a personalized medicine clinical research study within the Center for Personalized Therapeutics. These positions are a wonderful opportunity for those anticipating pursuing a degree in Medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Screening, interviewing and consenting subjects for participation.
  • Arrange collection of blood and buccal samples, data collection, data entry and data analysis.
  • Prepare summaries of data and related literature related to the current research, and help in the generation of reports, posters, abstracts, and articles related to the research project.
  • Analyzes, facilitates and participates in the daily activities of multiple moderately complex clinical trials and performs all aspects of clinical data management, including patient data retrieval, referring MD office records, preparing clinical research charts, and participation in program audits.
  • Solves a range of straightforward problems relating to the administration of the compliance, financial and other related aspects of a clinical study.
  • Performs other related work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Education:

  • Bachelor\'s degree.

Experience:

  • Previous research experience or relevant experience.

  • Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy.
  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong data management skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to read and understand complex documents (e.g., clinical trials).
  • Ability to handle competing demands with diplomacy and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to absorb large amounts of information quickly.
  • Adaptability to changing working situations and work assignments.
