Robert Half Communication Specialist in Chicago, Illinois

Primary Daily Responsibilities:

  • Social media activities

  • Developing overall social media strategy and campaigns (across firm LinkedIn, Facebook and X platforms, as well as a dedicated LinkedIn group for firm alumni)

  • Managing daily posting to firm channels

  • Conducting social media monitoring

  • Maintaining social media content calendars

  • Performing social media audits as needed

  • Coordinating with other internal teams (e.g. MarTech, graphics, events, DEI) to produce posts

Additional Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Creating and assisting other members in writing and editing web content, including practice/service descriptions, attorney biographies, deal announcements and other website announcements, alumni content, and other content as needed following SEO best practices.

  • Chambers, Legal 500, Managing IP Stars

  • Brainstorming and contributing ideas to the development of strategic firm content (e.g., Attorney Q& As, Highlights documents) that helps to build profiles for practice areas, geographies and individual lawyers.

  • Assisting with communications and messaging for ad hoc projects (firm storybook, partner retreats, firm publications) and annual events such as partner elevation promotions.

  • Providing onsite support for Chicago Office based events on an as needed basis; and

  • Supporting other ad hoc marketing departments projects.

  • Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree, ideally in communications or marketing-related field.

  • 3+ years of prior communications experience. Experience within a detail oriented or financial services firm preferred, but candidates from all industries with the right skill-set and a willingness to learn a new sector will be considered.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and exceptional attention to detail coupled with the ability to distill complex issues into clear, concise language.

  • Prior social media management and/or experience/familiarity with the legal directories submissions process (e.g., Chambers, Legal 500) is a plus.

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with firm attorneys and colleagues at all levels.

    Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in communications, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a communication-focused role within the legal industry.

• Proficiency in using social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn for business purposes.

• Experience in using database and EO/IR systems.

• Strong knowledge and understanding of brand awareness strategies.

• Experience in creating marketing materials such as brochures.

• Proven track record in campaign planning and execution.

• Proficiency in design and digital tools.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with various departments.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
