Pay Range: $131,248 - $195,561
Rush salaries are determined by many factors including, but not limited to, education, job-related experience and skills, as well as internal equity and industry specific market data. The pay range for each role reflects Rush’s anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position. Offers may very depending on the circumstances of each case.
Summary:
This Director of General Accounting is a member of the Corporate Finance leadership team and is responsible for overseeing the financial position of Rush University Medical Center. The Director will supervise, coordinate, monitor and evaluate the accounting activity of the organization including General Accounting, Fixed Assets and Fund Accounting.
As a critical member of the Finance Leadership Team, the Director of General Accounting leads the operations of the Corporate Finance department including standardizing processes, enhancing the internal control environment, overseeing the monthly financial close process, ensures all monthly reconciliations are completed timely to safeguard company assets and become the change agent for the department. This role also supports the annual financial audit, meets with both internal and external auditors and ensures the financial statements are presented in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Partners with the other senior finance leaders and operations management to drive business results, implement cross-functional strategies, provide strategic business analysis and recommendations, assess risks and opportunities and develop action plans for complex business issues.
Required:
BS in Accounting/Finance
Minimum of five years of managerial experience
CPA Requires
Demonstrates advanced GAAP knowledge and the ability to research complex accounting issues and standards
Knowledge of ERP systems, financial reporting and an ability to work closely with internal and external auditors
Lawson experience preferred
MBA preferred
Proficiency in Lawson, Workday and Axiom preferred
Responsibilities:
Direct oversight of General Accounting, Fixed Assets and Fund Accounting.
Oversees the general accounting function which includes month end close process, balance sheet/reconciliation review and financial reporting.
Accountable for ensuring that policies and procedures including the internal control environment are in place to provide reasonable assurance that the company assets are protected.
Review various Financial Reports generated on a monthly basis.
Reviews internal Financial Statements each month, ensures all accruals are recorded properly and monthly variances are identified.
Coordinate the month end, quarterly and year end closing process.
Provides technical accounting GAAP guidance and support to all RUMC and ROPH entities.
Ensure that the ERP system continues to operate as required. Validate and/or initiate changes to ensure accounting requirements continue to be met.
Coordinates work related to both external and internal audits in the periodic review of RUMC's financial records including grant audits. Responsible for implementing the agreed upon recommendations resulting from the audit findings.
Oversee customer service of General Accounting, Fixed Assets and Fund Accounting and responsible for conflicting issues that may arise from these three areas.
Responsible for ensuring that departmental policies are maintained and reviewed on a regular basis.
Provide other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required.
