Job Description:

Ronald McDonald House Charities is seeking a Director, Strategy and Alignment to play a key leadership role in driving, operationalizing and aligning the RMHC Global organization and system around a set of strategic priorities that advance the global mission.

In this role, you will work with the Senior Leadership Team of RMHC Global to advance the RMHC mission through two major sets of responsibilities:  

STRATEGIC PLANNING: Lead Global team processes to develop annual and multi-year strategic plans. This work will require you to lead:

  • Process

  • Lead project plan creation (i.e., inputs, outputs, meeting cadences) and execution (i.e, templates and communications) to coordinate final strategic plans and final budgets across RMHC colleagues and the RMHC system

  • Coordination & Collaboration

  • Develop strong working relationships with key partners across the RMHC Global organization in Field Operations, Finance, Technology, Research, Risk Management, Development and Marketing and Communications to ensure broad understanding and effective engagement in enterprise strategic and annual planning processes. 

  • Work closely with Finance to drive budget planning and management to support RMHC priorities and meet enterprise Finance achievements (annual planning, re-projections, etc).

  • Work closely with RMHC Extended Leadership Team (Directors+) and key partners from McDonald’s corporate Global Functions to accurately articulate, reflect, and align function priorities and budget needs.

  • Own education of strategic and annual planning processes to Global RMHC team writ large, working in partnership with Director, Culture & Learning and Director, Internal Communications

  • Measurement & Tracking

  • Design and execute approaches to measure and track progress on annual and multi-year Global strategic plans

  • Work with the leadership of RMHC to establish and track progress indicators on annual and strategic plans

LEADERSHIP, SYSTEM & GLOBAL TEAM ALIGNMENT: Support and enable the effectiveness of the RMHC Global Leadership Team and System Leadership Structure and Processes.  In this role, you will:

  • Help to create and operationalize the teaming structure and processes for the RMHC Global organization inclusive of the Senior Leadership team and the Extended Leadership Team in order to ensure sustained cross-organizational collaboration and engagement.

  • Facilitate the creation and advancement of bi-weekly agendas for the Senior Leadership Team of RMHC Global and ensure appropriate delegation and tracking of actions out of leadership meetings.

  • Work across teams to ensure the effective coordination of Senior Leadership Team executive engagement plans

  • Manage two Executive Administrative support professionals who support the Senior Leadership Team.

  • Help to design, implement, sustain and evaluate the effectiveness of the Global Advisory Council made up of RMHC system leaders and RMHC Global leadership.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Provide and enable project management support for special projects and initiatives as needed. In this role, you will:

  • Organize, facilitate, and provide project management support for key cross-functional RMHC Global projects as defined by the Senior Leadership Team

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate self-drive to collect data needed to determine most efficient or impactful path forward

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong adaptability while maintaining attention to detail

  • Strong project management capabilities with the ability to design, adapt, and implement processes that serve cross section of functional disciplines and leaders

  • Exceptional leadership management capabilities with the ability to effectively handle expectations and build support across many levels of organization

  • Excellent communicator and listener who can translate multiple perspectives and complex processes into simple, digestible messages and calls to action

  • Potential to become a trusted advisor to executives through the ability to balance expertise, learning mentality, and empathic approach to problem-solving

  • Strong influence skills and high emotional intelligence

  • Experience navigating and driving change in matrixed organizations

  • Proficiency in Excel and PPT, comfortable creating executive-facing slides and presentations

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree and equivalent work experience in management consulting, strategic planning, or project and/or initiative management.

  • Demonstrated success in leading sophisticated projects or programs requiring complex stakeholder management

  • Experience working in partnership with senior leadership teams

  • Preference for experience or interest in non-profit organizations or social impact fields.
