AIG Forensic Accountant Analyst in Chicago, Illinois

Join us as a Forensic Accountant Analyst to take your Accounting career to the next level with a global market leader.

The candidate will utilize accounting principles and techniques to obtain, interpret, record, and analyze a variety of data from all business types to assist in the quantification and the measurement of commercial business insurance claims. The candidate will work with a team and manager and be mentored during the introduction of forensic accounting or the further development of their forensic experience.

How you will create an Impact;

  • Partner with the Insured and claim adjuster to address, comprehend, quantify and measure damage claims (e.g., business income loss, extra expense, inventory loss).

  • Determine potential exposure and reserve on a claim in accordance with AIG reserving protocols. Timely manage reserve adjustments as needed.

  • Acquire the appropriate financial and non-financial information and documents to evaluate the damage claim; perform necessary research.

  • Compile, analyze and summarize the claim submission and source information; perform financial data and impact analysis.

  • Prepare the forensic accounting loss calculations and schedules.

  • Make presentations to management for input and approval.

  • Correspond regularly with management and claim adjuster regarding status updates and development of findings.

  • Help develop and administer training programs to other AIG groups.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from an accredited college or university required.

  • 3+ years of experience in forensic accounting and business interruption loss calculations for property claims is a plus.

  • CPA or actively pursuing CPA designation.

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, investigative, problem solving and research skills.

  • Ability to communicate information clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, effective time management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to effectively handle and prioritize multiple responsibilities.

  • Proficient Microsoft Office Suite skills.
