Job Summary

Working as the HR Manager, your primary focus will be to support the Human Resources function so that it meets both the needs of the business and of our associates. The HR manager will take the lead role in all of the following functional areas: associate relations, HR specific training, HR legal requirements and compliance, development and revision of HR policies and procedures, associate engagement survey action plan follow up, performance and merit increase monitoring, hiring non-exempt associates and managing data.

Key Responsibilities:

This is an HR generalist position with a heavy focus on training, development, and compliance.

  • Develop and implement on site training programs

  • Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps

  • Facilitate in person training sessions for hourly and management team

  • Leading and/or overseeing onboarding and orientation training for new and rehire team members

  • Design curriculum and training materials

  • Track and report on training metrics

  • Conducting regular audits to verify compliance with policies and procedures

  • Helps develop, implement, and support a retention strategy partners

  • Supports employee engagement and retention at the location

  • Coaches team managers to understand business information and the key performance levers

  • Ensuring efficient and welcoming employee check-in experience with the HR team

  • Assist and monitor recruitment/staffing plans for the location in partnership with managers

  • Partnering with the location leadership team to develop and deploy employee engagement action plans throughout the year

  • Moves between strategic and operational thinking to execute strategy

  • Ensuring all team member information is accurate and up to date within the location HRIS system

  • Ensuring timely completion of all mandatory/compliance-related training, e.g. Preventing Workplace Harassment

  • Working with location leadership to define management succession plan and development

  • Supporting managers in completing employee investigations and corrective actions processes

  • Evaluates/audits working practices to manage risks and drive compliance

  • Shapes and manages change and improvement programs

  • Attend manager meetings to support the overall management and governance of the location

  • Partner with the location/partner HR team to develop joint strategies where appropriate

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned/needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.

  • PHR or SPHR designation preferred.

  • Three plus years human resources generalist experience required; management experience a plus.

  • HR experience at a large, multi-unit organization required.

  • Previous experience as part of a centralized HR environment, preferably in a corporate setting.

  • Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills; advanced skills preferred.

  • Experience responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.

  • Strong presentation skills required.

  • Training certification a plus (i.e. Zenger-Miller, Stephen Covey, etc.).
