ABOUT THE PROGRAM – Summer 2025 Internship

  • Our program takes place from June – August lasting for 10- 12 weeks

    ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP

    Applicants will be considered for internships with various engineering departments across the organization. Our engineering interns are responsible for overseeing the technical design, evaluation and construction of commercial and utility-scale projects. In the past, our engineering interns have joined teams such as:

  • Wind Renewable Engineering

  • Support the preliminary technical due diligence of prospective wind energy projects.

  • Evaluate project constraints and design optimal project layouts utilizing GIS software in order to maximize project value.

  • Design site measurement campaigns, analyze available meteorological datasets, and establish opinion of long-term resource characteristics at multiple project sites.

  • Model expected energy production and affiliated key metrics

  • Conduct site visits to support site evaluation and wind turbine micro siting.

  • Participate in landowner meetings, community outreach events, and construction meetings.

  • Gain knowledge of wind turbine technology and affiliated technical and market trends.

  • Work with wind turbine O EM’s to optimize equipment selection for projects as it relates to power curves, operational modes, mechanical suitability, and curtailment strategies.

  • Interface with the project development, origination, finance, environmental, and GIS teams to support project development, marketing, financing, and permitting efforts.

  • Solar Renewable Engineering

  • Interface with the Project Management and Operations teams leading up to and through project commercial operations.

  • Conduct site visits to support site evaluation, suitability, and due diligence efforts.

  • Participate in landowner meetings, community outreach events, and monthly construction meetings.

  • Prepare conceptual project layouts utilizing CAD and GIS software.

  • Optimize layouts to maximize project value. Utilize performance modeling software including PVSyst , and System Advisory Model (SAM) to prepare energy production estimates.

  • BESS (Battery Energy Storage)

  • Interface with battery, inverter, and padmount transformer Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to obtain technical information and stay apprised of technology advancements and trends.

  • Prepare conceptual project layouts utilizing QGIS, CAD, or Visio software. Optimize layouts to maximize project value.

  • Conduct site visits to support site evaluation, suitability, and due diligence efforts.

  • Assist the Development team with federal, state, county, and local permitting efforts.

  • Support the progress of team initiatives including safety, material/process template improvement, etc.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled in a 4-year Bachelor’s degree program with an expected graduation date between December 202 5 and Summer 202 6 .

  • Majoring in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline .

  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.

  • Demonstrated i nterest in the renewable energy or clean energy sector.
